NATO Days 2022, Ostrava, Czech Republic (Part 1 - Statics)

Hello all,

 

September has been aviation heavy, I've attended three shows in the last three weekends.

 

This past weekend, September 17 and 18 saw me at the Annual NATO Days event in Ostrava in the north east of the Czech Republic.

 

The show was nicely varied, as the event usually is.

 

At that here's a bit of the static exhibits:

 

With the gate I entered through, Helicopters were the first to greet me.

The German army brought an EC-135 and NH-90:

 

The German navy brought a Westland Lynx and the U.S. Army a pair of Apaches:

 

An Mi-35 and Mi-171 of the Czech air force:

 

The Polish navy brought this PZL M28 Bryza:

 

Royal Canadian Air Force CF-18 Hornet:

 

P-3 Orion of the German navy:

 

For the first time at NATO Days, we had a Rafale in the statics. It was nice to finally get up close to one:

 

Panavia Tornado of the Luftwaffe along with a Taurus cruise missile and a box of patches and other souvenirs to sell:

 

The Latvian air force made their NATO Days premier appearance with this An-2:

 

Another NATO Days premier was the Embraer C-390:

 

The Lithuanian air force brought in this AS365 SAR helicopter:

 

One of the real treats in the statics this year was a pair of Turkish Phantoms (sadly, I only managed decent pictures of one of them):

Looks like a great show with a nicely varied selection of aircraft. The TAF F4s and RCAF Hornets were real treats! Thanks for sharing.

Incidentally, by looking at them I just realised I made a mistake when placing the decals on the little front wheel well door - I had them upside down...   Well, you live and learn
