Marklo
For some reason I had completely forgotten I had in a moment of weakness bought this off eBay. Now it’s a vac form and it’s somewhat off from my usual fare so if it doesn’t get built for this GB it probably won’t get built so here it is. Now you may or may not be aware of my aversion ( well not mine specifically) to nazi tail markings so I may either finish it as the floatplane version or ( possibly more interesting) Japanese markings as at least once prototype was supplied to the Japanese for evaluation.

Went back to take a look at the nose in particular and can see why you have concerns. Which way are the kit parts broken down?

Which way are the kit parts broken down? Conventional left right split. I could see myself making my own. A three way split might make more sense. 25 minutes ago, ColonelKrypton said: You are too modest - it is, I think, the challenge that speaks to your creative mind. Making your own might be the better solution as a vertical join isn't going to work well for that small triangular section at the upper front pane. Marklo
The floatplane version which is even more mad,I mean take a high speed bomber/reconnaissance aircraft add huge unwieldy floats and what do you get a slow sitting duck. Two of the 6(?) prototypes were sold to Japan, most likely as not they were in RLM 02 but with Hinnomaru in place of the various crosses.
ColonelKrypton
I quite like the float plane version as do I the HE-115 and the various similar Italian types. cheers, Graham

My only difficulty is that I’d have to scratch build a pair of floats. Hmmm..,
JOCKNEY
As a fan of float planes, I definitely would vote for that version. Just a suggestion but someone might have a pair of floats from the Ju52 if they built the wheeled version, might be worth asking on wanted section ? Best of luck. Corsairfoxfouruncle
Now this is definitely one I've been wanting to see. I will be following along with this build for sure.
Marklo
Out with the sharpie….. For a potential bomber it’s not a big plane, closer to a Stuka in size than a He111 or a Do17. Edited September 22, 2022 by Marklo

I wonder how big it is compared to an He.70 ?

CliffB
A great choice. I had one of these in my stash for years (before selling it on). IIRC, there was no prop or u/c provided - just the parts you've shown?

stevehnz
I'll keep an eye on this, I have the Valom kit in stock but I suspect you might find this easier than my one going on the reputation for being challenging that some Valom kits have. Marklo
Added in a bulkhead to be the back of the cockpit and a dowel to give the whole think a bit of structure. Cut the cockpit opening with my trusty razorsaw and buttoned up the fuselage. some filler and the tail attached. I’ve put a brass rod through it for strength.

Ernie
Very nice, I like the idea of using the dowel for strength, simple but effective 👍
Marklo
Started a n the wings. Sanded the edges and added some balsa attached with double sided tape. Both wings clamped into submission. I’ll probably put some brass rod through the wing roots into the dowel in the fuselage to give the whole thing a bit of strength.

Marklo
Added some brass pins to secure the wings. Wings attached. Roots need quite a bit of filler.
