Tamiya - Volkswagen Beetle 1966 Model, 1/24 - Herbie edition

Current build is a replica of a beetle from a herbie movie. Trying to recreate a scrapyard scene,

First time trying out weathering  Here is my progress so far:

I think it looks very, very good.  My only suggestions would be to make sure the ground color contrasts with the body color, so the Beetle really stands out.  And maybe put some damage on the folding roof?  I would think the material would degrade a lot in the sun . . .

Welcome to the forums, and that's not bad at all! I'd say you're on the right track with this. I agree the roof is a bit too clean for now, maybe some lighter colours to get the sun bleached look, then maybe some moss and lichen growing on it. The base would look great with some green weeds growing up and over the Beetle! You're doing great, let's have some more of this 🙂

Ooooooo, I like this, great start looking forward to seeing it set in the scene. 

I saw one of the original movie cars from the post scrapyard scene at a VW show quite a few years ago and they did a great job painting on the rust, real life imitating models 😄😉
