Had this in the stash for quite a while, so what better way to get done, hot an R1 also but will not get greedy so will just do the one.

I do love the Williams Brothers kit boxes artwork and the other kits on the back along with their instructions which are packed with details.

Looking forward tobthe start line!!!

Good luck everyone

Hi Chris,

You may struggle to get the engine in to the assembled cowl, as its bigger than the opening at either end. I think there is a note in the instructions that says the cowl has to be glued around the engine?

Will look forward to the scratch cockpit!

Thanks Malc for the heads up, I am guilty of not reading the destructions all the way through, I never learn🤪

I will be thinning the cowling down as one side is thicker than the other.  I am building the engine at the moment so will see if this works or not.

Thank you

Hi

I have fettled the engine cylinders and now have added some paint to the crankcase, but the main reason for this update is the cowling has been thinned as well as the cockpit lid too, quite pleased with those, just need to clean them up a bit now.

Chris,

Coming along nicely - it is yellow, isn't it?!

Cheers,

Roger

Thanks Roger, pleased to have thinned those bits down , looking forward to adding some details, 😄 crikey certainly is,  very bright, still will make it quicker to paint though, hopefully.

Ahaaa, I found it !!

I started the R1, moons ago !!

Really good old kits, If I can put my mitts on a Z, I'll not miss the point !!

Sincerely.

CC

Thanks CC, I have the R1 too, but always preferred the look of the Z.

I have made some more progress, in amongst all my other builds.

Pushrods cut from the front part of the casing.  The ignition wire conduit was added to the casing, seat assembled.

Ignition wires started, could see ones that go to the plugs at hhe rear of the cylinders so presume there is another loom at he rear too

might do a bit on this later.

thanks

Well done Chris !!

The R1 is the ultimate one...

Now the Laird Solution is also a nice Machine as the Caudron ....

I remember all these boxes at the LHS and a stranded CC who were looking with envy....:blah::blah:

Yup, there is another harness at the rear....

Sincerely.

There are some cracking racer kits from Williams brothers,  I like the Weddell Williams racer.  I never saw these in any model shops, I must be too young😄

Thanks for the confirmation re the second Harness.

Thanks CC.
