This is taking a lot longer than I imagined it would.

The middle stripe over the fuselage need a little adjustment which I'll get round to once the starboard wing is done.

Thanks for looking,

Ooooooo more lovely Stripes Alistair,  looks very impressive so far.  Great work.

Chris

Thanks Chris,

It's a lot more complicated due to the nacelles than I thought it would be.

I've spotted my deliberate error too. I'll need to overpaint the yellow on the port aileron.

There shouldn't be black there. No biggie.

Yes I remember the stripes on the Ventura, all good fun though and will definitely be very impressive in your display when done and you will be really chuffed too.

We would not have noticed the deliberate mistake if you hadn't said😉

Does look great, I must get one of these ordered, I have some flying hours to spend.

Thanks Chris,

If it ends up looking a quarter as good as your Ventura I will be over the moon.

Yup did it again on the Starboard side  see the following pictures.

The last masking for the black has been done and the middle stripe tidied up a bit.

I also masked up for the Aircraft Numbers that I'd forgotten about on the Port wing.

Sprayed some white and then some yellow.

This will be left until tomorrow and then I'll touch up the necessary bits and get the ailerons back to yellow.

Then I can start the masking for the HSS.

Thanks for looking,

Alistair

You shouldn't have told us Alistair 😄😉

Thank you for your kind comments on my Ventura fella, I did enjoy that one.

The underside of your Mossie looks awesome.

Great work

That looks really good Alistair!  The stripes look great, your patience in masking has really paid off (notwithstanding the ailerons) and the overall effect is very striking.

Thanks Mark,

Mr. Genius here thought it would be simple job.

Still, it's done now just need to do the HSS. That'll be another monster masking job.

She looks rather eye catching there Alistair, quite loud you might say.

But she looks great.

Simon.

Thanks Simon,

It goes all the way to 11. That's one better.

Touch ups and fill ins done.

This is the result after 5 hrs of masking(with suitable breaks, of course).

I'm off to give this a spritz of Aqua Gloss in an attempt to seal the edges and give the HSS a gloss surface to go on to.

Thanks for looking,

After a few misty coats of HSS.

The last coat may have been too heavy though.

Turns out that Aqua Gloss isn't particularly good under lacquers.

Oh well, on to plan B. Once that is dry I'll sand back the crackling and then put down some Flat aluminium and then HSS over the top of that.

Stuff happens.

Thanks for looking,

Alistair

Crikey 5 hours!!! Wow Alistair,  should look mighty fine when done, shame about the cradle glazing, looking forward to the big reveal.

Chris

Thanks Chris,

Ach, stuff happens.

I will sort it out tomorrow and see where it goes from there.

Cheers,

Alistair
