This continues apace, not that I expected anything different! The nacelle assembly was fiddly or just needed some cleanup? Looking great though!

Andy

Thanks Andy,

The nacelle assembly went together fine bit a bit of care and careful perusal of the instructions.

Just requires some clean up due to Mr. Heavy-Handed here being a little too liberal with the Extra Thin. :D

Looking good, Alistair.

Chris

Thanks Chris,

I will try to get the Yellow on tomorrow.

I'm on an early though so it depends on how I feel when I get in.

And we're back. Apologies for the delay. A combination of earlies which means getting up at 04:15 and a booked 6 monthly rules exam in Glasgow in the middle.

2 coats of ColourCoats RAF/FAA Yellow sprayed over the bits that need it.

There are a couple of bits that require more work.

Once the yellow is fully dry I'll sort those rough bits and then look at masking for the black.

Thanks for looking,

Alistair

I didn't get much chance to do anything else today as we had a bit of a storm came through making it difficult to get out to the garage and keep stuff dry.

I'll get some masking and black done tomorrow.

Thanks for looking,

Cheers,

Alistair

Note that Airfix didn’t include any of the target towing gear specific to the TT.35. Note in particular the extra wires between the vertical tail and the stabilisers to prevent the tow cable getting caught in the elevators and rudder. There’s also a little guard to protect the tail wheel.

Those look to be dayglo stripes on the wingtips and inboard flaps. (On closer inspection, there are dayglo stripes on the aft fuselage too).

This is going to look very striking indeed, nice job on the base yellow Alistair.

Thanks Mark,

I do hope so. It is a different scheme and should stand out if it works.

Lovely job on that yellow Alistair - this will be a most unusual Mossie!

Cheers,

Roger

Thanks Roger,

Trying something different. We'll see how it goes.

Thanks for the photos,

I'm not making any structural changes to the kit itself, just doing the paint job from the Hendon one which doesn't have the dayglo stripes as far as I can tell from photos.

But, looking at photos this morning I've realised that the Yellow goes over the top of the wings outboard of the engines and I will need to paint them before i get on with the black.

More later,

Cheers,

Alistair

I finished the Night shift this morning and am now on annual leave for a week.

Might actually get something done despite the masking for the black scaring the living daylights out of me.

Aha*, I hear you say. You chose this scheme, get on with it.

Oh all right then, if you insist.

Testing the technique towards the tail to see how it goes.

Not perfect but once I've got all the black on there is still the HSS to do so there shouldn't be too many touch ups.

Thanks for looking,

Cheers,

Alistair
