Supple sounds of dinner bells - Airfix 1/72 De Havilland Mosquito B.XI - Finished

This one has been sitting for a while while I sourced the necessary decals.

The idea for it was put in my head by @bigbadbadge and @Dandie Dinmont as Airfix had scanned a TT version of this I thought why not do it as one.

I don't know if there is anything structurally needed to make it accurate but I'm just going with the Silver, Yellow and Black paint scheme, which, if I can pull it off should look good.

Ooooooo brilliant Alistair,  I have been thinking about getting one if these to do a TT myself one day.  Looking forward to this and Sorry BTW.

Chris

Thanks Chris, Me Too.

Why Sorry. You got me over my total fear of Yellow, it gets treated like any other colour now.

Cheers,

Alistair.

For myself, I regret nothing. I do have one slight concern though Alistair. Are you sure you're up to this colour scheme after your recent whoopsie with the Spitfire invasion stripes? 😄

I'll get my coat,

Craig.

I shall look forward to the Lysander - I was going through some old photos from my Dad's stint in the RAF training to be a navigator in Canada and came across a couple of stripey Lysanders; a scheme new to me. Sadly the images are quite small and in black and white...

Thanks.  They're are a very striking looking aircraft in that scheme and I will be doing one of those with the large fin flash, I do love a large fin glash too.  It's great to have the photos, there are some cracking colour images out on the net and I think a restored one too which gives a great look at the very bright machines.

Alistair,

Nice choice! I've got a 1:48 Tamiya FB Mk.VI near the top of the stash which I'm thinking about doing as a Banff Strike Wing aircraft (maybe even Max Aitken's in invasion stripes!) Look forward to following this,

Cheers,

The Mosquito is my favourite aircraft, my parents told me it was the first I could recognise by sight.  I shall enjoy following this, Alistair.

Glad to have you along for the ride.

Great choice Alistair - I remember building the old tool Mossie as a nipper ...... this one looks much finer. Looking forward to seeing it in the TT scheme.

Q

Thanks Q,

I remember the old Mossie as well and this is much nicer.
