Tamiya Tiger 1/48 at Kursk

Recommended Posts

Hello Everyone,

This is my latest built, a Tamiya Tiger on quarter scale. It was a very straitghfoward build, very enjoyable, so I have focused on the painting and weathering. I decided to do a tank of the second Panzer Regiment at Kursk in summer 1943.

I need to improve my skill regarding painting a figurine, this is only one of my first try.

I'm thinking to add a little diorama in the next weeks, the Tiger on the stepp of Kursk, maybe over a trench...

Very nice model. I like the chipping and how you've done the camo scheme 👍

Thank you StuartH ! For the camo, I used my airbrush and painted free hand, for the chipping, it was done with a fine brush and some sponges.

Very nice indeed.

For my 1/48 armour I use Accurate Armour carbon fibre aerials. They are 100mm. but i cut them in half. Well worth the expence.

BUT. ...Mind your eyes :analintruder:     Don't even ask...

Only going to echo above. Lovely stuff. Oh,,,, and the figure looks fine to me. After decades of practice you should have seen the gargoyles I turned out.

Pete

Thank you Pete Robin, but I need to improve my skill, especially with the painting of the face of my figurine. their eyes has always a tendency to squint.

I have seen this sort of thing on ebay as an industrial item and even thinner. But the above is a good place to start.

Be good to see more 1/48 armour on here.  It's very under rated in my view.

Really nice, as has already been mentioned by almost everyone, I particularly like your nice tight camo demarcation,  I cant even get anywhere near that tight in 1/35! :like:

Great work

thank you for the link. I totaly agree about armor on quarter scale, I find it a good compromise between detail and size. And I can put them next to aircraft to give a good size understanding.

Lovely job here. Like the chipping especially.

Thank you Muchmirth ! At first, i added with a fine brush some marks with a lighter color than my base, and then I added somes scratch in the middle of the marks using a fine brusk of some sponges.

Hi Everyone,

I just finished a little diorama for my tiger. I wanted to make a scene with my tiger crossing over a trench during the battle of Kursk.

For the first time, I used an electric flock applicator from Mig Ammo. It worked well !

Very nice, I like the way models come to life when you add even the smallest bit of basing/diorama around them. Well done.

Thank you, I totally agree with you regarding what a diorama can add to a model.
