Snafu35
Hello, I can still participate in this group build. And I choose to build the Monogram Dauntless. I already built this model in the early 80's: But I only kept the box and the assembly instructions. The model is marketed by Revell today, I bought one recently! The model is a dash 3, with an air intake on the engine cowling. I'm going to use Hasegawa decals to represent one of the planes that participated in the Midway battle. I would also like to build it with all its original features: retractable landing gear, movable machine gun and dive flaps, bomb that can be dropped. Would I do a little nostalgia? First drill the holes in the diving flaps. Regards. Eric-Snafu35 Edited November 2, 2022 by Snafu35 change title

RC Boater Bill
That was my favorite Monogram kit as a lad. I loved all the working features. Flew many missions providing air support for my army men….
Snafu35
Hello everyone, The Revell/Monogram build group is about to come to an end, and I am forfeiting the build of this Dauntless. It is sad, because I didnot have enough time (easy excuse! ) to complete this project. I started to drill the diving flaps: I also worked (a little!) on the crew figures. I will not be able to deal with this in the week remaining before the deadline. I will do it! I will simply present it to you in the finished aircraft models section. I apologize again. Regards, Eric-Snafu35
Corsairfoxfouruncle
Understandable, please add a link or mention a few names so that we may follow along. The one time I built one of these(1987), I drilled out the holes as well. My modeling mentor was impressed I’d gone to that level of detail.
