I used to use the Vallejo flat as well

Might one enquire the current flat coat of choice?

One might indeed.  From the same manufacturer as the artist’s acrylic paints I use, it’s their matt varnish.  Thinned with a little, you guessed it, windex.

Superb work Dunny, looks utterly realistic and to me is reminiscent of the War Memorial’s Kittyhawk. And Lightning quick too!

Gerard

Thanks very much Gerard - that's certainly good enough for me!

Cheers,

Roger

I might have known - might have to give it a crack (including the Windex!)

Well, Roger, what else can I say but WOW!  Absolutely superb work on the paint (I love the colours as well), and the weathering so far is very tastefully done. You're setting the bar very high for the rest of us!

  • Dunny changed the title to 1:48 Lightning P38F-4-1 No. 1 PRU RAAF *FINISHED*

Hi All,

A little work this morning - mainly adding fiddly bits, painting and decalling the props, exhaust staining, addition of antenna line, and just like that she's done! Here's a couple of teaser shots:

I'll add some RFI photos to the GB gallery and will also post a separate thread in RFI. Many thanks to all those who have added kind words and encouragement - it has been much appreciated. Many thanks especially to @trickyrich and @81-er for hosting this GB - it has been most enjoyable as a first-timer, and I look forward to seeing more beautiful P38s being completed!

Thanks for looking,

Roger

Would it be possible to shift the props/spinners?

As in reverse them? Already done since the photos!
