theplasticsurgeon
This kit, bought from Kit Rescue at IPMS Avon show earlier this year, costing £10.
81-er
You're going to have a fine brace of P-38's with these builds, Tim James
theplasticsurgeon
Parts. url=https://postimg.cc/ygbnmmK7][/url] Default options with the kit. And the D-Day options I'm considering.
theplasticsurgeon
Well this build has finally got going - with cockpit parts painting. Crisp hard plastic, so typical of Hasegawa, this kit has raised surface detail.

theplasticsurgeon
My morning as I watch the Funeral on TV. Cockpit parts from the front. From the rear. Fitted into the upper fuselage part. And in company with my RS build. A favourite is emerging. God bless the Queen.
theplasticsurgeon
A bit later it looks like a P-38.

theplasticsurgeon
Anti-dazzle areas painted with acrylic. Originally painted last night with enamel - dissolved the silver underneath, and mixed. Looked horrible earlier this morning. 3

Corsairfoxfouruncle
Hate when that happens, however the save looks like it worked.
PattheCat
Paints compatibility, what a headache. Good save here.
theplasticsurgeon
Getting there with stripes. These decals stick to the paper like limpets. Already faded to yellow, and quite thick. The colour plan omits the blue nose detail for this aircraft. This and the white band, to make ALL P-38s look like the more valuable Pathfinders from a distance - so that they could hide in plain sight.
81-er
It's looking good, Tim DIdn't know that about the paintwork to the nose either James 1
theplasticsurgeon
Boom stripes fitted. Roughly painted on D-Day -1, they were all different. In this case I've hand painted over the radiators, The decals were tedious to say the least. And the white bits all overpainted with acrylic paint.
