DH Dove Mk.5 British Eagle 1/72nd

Just finished this one. The A Model kit of the lovely Dove. I used 26 Decals for the decals all over. Light grey was from an Xtracrylix paint and the white the Halfords aerosol.   The only issue I have with the decals is the anti dazzle portion that shows the overlap. If I had known , I would have trimmed it to fit better but as the rest of the fuselage trim fitted so well, I assumed the decal would be the same for both sides. I have to say the end of the trim stripe was about 4mm too long where it meets the tail plane root and needed cutting away carefully.  As for the kit, not too bad and all went well.

OOps. Just noticed I have forgotten to fit the exhausts. Hope you don,t mind. But they will be added after this session.

This view shows the overlap of the decal with a darkened centre line. Not sure how I will rectify this.

Incidentally, the windscreen framing was done with white decal striping.

That looks great Paul. It looks really smart in the British Eagle livery.

The Dove has always been one of my favourite aeroplanes. I really must get around to starting mine.
