Here's mine.  This has been a fun GB and the current gallery entries are superb in their detail and quality.  Mine depicts a Free French Recon/Observation squadron from Sardinia that 'might have been flown' by St. Exupéry.  Someday I will have to build his all-blue aircraft and do it right, but for now this will have to fill the dance card.

The WiP is here...

An oldie but Goodie from 1971, parts fit was much better than expected, and I fancied doing something a little different so opted for the Chinese Airforce version offered by the old Frog decals.

Work in progress below

I hope you like it

Cheers Pat

Many thanks to @trickyrich & @81-er for hosting this GB, my choice of subject challenged me more than I expected, but their support, especially from James & all others who put up likes & comments really helped carry me through. Thanks guys.

Steve.

Well this has been a grand STGB, hasn't it!? Super cool to see all the excellent builds and interesting to see the diversity even amongst P-38s! Thanks to all organizers and fellow participants!

My entry is a part of my "Last Legs Ponies" project, in which I am modeling American World War 2-era fighters ending their lives in service with Caribbean air forces (so far just P-51s, but now a P-38!). This is a Nicaragua P-38L, but converted "back" to "L" from "M" (thus leftover radar pod fairing under the nose). The kit is Hobby Boss's "easy build" 1/72 P-38L, which has a few accuracy issues, but I was very happy with it. I supplemented it with that radar pod fairing, air intakes and stencil decals from the Hobby 2000 P-38M, which I really feel improved it. Main marking decals are from Aztec.

Here is the original (only photo I have ever found):

Hobbyboss 1/72 P-38L - Fuerza Aérea Hondureña, ca. 1950.

Added a few scratchbuilt and spare PE items in the cockpit, corrected one of the pylons by removing the camera fairing and added a few lines of rivets. As the HAF P-38L apparantly were not equipped with nose guns, I used a spare nose tip from a RS Models kit (also used its turbocharger intakes). Decals from LF Models and Aztec, with resin MLG wheels also taken from the LF set.

I made it, the acrylic resin set. My take on the P-38 that crashed in North Wales after a range sortie, using the vintage Airfix 1/72 kit a bit of Das air drying clay and Woodland Scenics realistic water. I present the ‘Maid of Harlech’.
