TheyJammedKenny!
Wellll...that's a surprise! It'll probably outsell their proposed Dominie. Need to feed the kids somehow! Excellent job on their part, and Pacific War WWII enthusiasts will take delight!
sroubos
Excellent, I've been looking for a decently priced Hasegawa G4M1 or G4M2 for a commission. This is an excellent upgrade for the former kit, which is getting a bit long in the tooth.
SeaVenom
Interesting but shame we only see the fuselage and a few other parts at the moment.
David Koktavý
It is really surprise. Do I understand right that it is the competition with the old Hasegawa ?
KITCAT
Yes a surprise but hopefully a better kit than the old Hasegawa one.

It even appeared in a FROG box at one time.

IT_Man
She's a pretty thing! Not built a Sword kit, have they improved? (Pretty sure I remember some horror stories around their earlier kits). Hannants have it up for £40.49 - https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/SW72144?result-token=wfT7K Models2U slightly cheaper at £39.99 - https://www.models2u.co.uk/contents/en-uk/p17594_Mitsubishi-G4M1-Betty-(Model-11).html No sign on Jadlam or eModels yet.
IT_Man
Spotted Hannants have the Hasegawa one for £40, so around the same cost.
TCJ1965
Actually Hasegawa did an all new Betty about 10 years ago-the G4M2 it was excellent! Edited September 5, 2022 by TCJ1965

David Koktavý
Well, I realised Hasegawa did two independent kit. G4M1 is relly old kit with positive panel lines. The G4M2 is newer one and as noted, it is very nice kit. Then it makes sense to do G4M1 by Sword...
sroubos
Hasegawa's G4M1 is old but it's not very complicated and fits well. It goes together very quickly but of course you'll spend a good deal of time masking the transparancies. It's a great canvas for trying out your weathering skills - or lack thereof. Whirly
Interesting choice, marks a change of pace for Sword since I think it's way bigger than any other kits they did before. It's all the more surprising, since in this not too old post they dismissed the idea of a Lockheed C-140 Jetstar in 1/72 because of its size 🤔 1

To give them credit, I did not say the number in Czech, so they might have misheard and thought I said "C-141 Starlifter." I could agree with that PoV. Let's congratulate our friends who build Japanese WWII aircraft and see what happens next.

sroubos
Rear turret in two halves, that's a shame. That will leave a seam that's almost impossible to clean up without scratching the windows, so a lot of additional work there. In Hasegawa's old kit this is a single part. Then again I'll probably get a masking set this time so that will make it a bit easier.

Denford
Though I've only seen it on this site, it looks something of a disappointment, and not much of an 'advance' over the earlier Hasegawa G4M1 rendering. The more so since the much more detailed Hasegawa G4M2 (complete with Okha) is priced at £39.99, whereas the subject kit is £44.98. Yes, I know the £ is weak but .... Edited October 29, 2022 by Denford Incorrect comparison against Yen
