John Masters
How about this... I would like to build it as a post-war surplus vehicle used on a road crew, but I'm not sure of a 'What if' would qualify. If not, then OOB it is! --John
ArnoldAmbrose
Gidday John, a road crew vehicle with a Browning .50cal machine gun. That sets a dangerous precedent. All road crews will want one. 😁 Regards, Jeff.

Post-war vehicles were disarmed obviously. 🙂 My researched told me that many were used in British Columbia for logging and other heavy off-road work. Also in snowy conditions. Both were heavily modified for the tasks. I won't be doing that. It'll be OOB...
John Masters
And I'm off... Sprue, coffee, Blue Star Ferries mug... 1 and 2... ...and 3... I'm skipping '4' for the moment. I'll assemble the interior, tracks, separately so I can prime and paint them individually. The tracks will be the last to go on, I think. So 5... And this is where I'm at... John Masters
After visiting some friends for coffee, some lunch and bit of a nap (none of which I documented) I am back at it...and promptly imbedded the incorrect link... Blitz-building fairly screams 'rattle can!' Caution: wet paint. I ended up using some airbrush and hairy brush to augment the Olive Drab. I also use some other colours (red, steel, black/grey, rust, gunmetal...) to pick out the smaller details of which there are many on this fully molded wee beastie. If I had documented every move for the next hour, all my photos would look like this: The interior, which will never be seen once I button it up. But I had to work on it a bit. Especially those fire extinguishers. Some dry brushing, damp brushing, pin washing...I've since cleaned up the rust that dribbled down off the exhaust...the tools come out nicely. This shot reminds of days gone by, when there were only rainy days, and the only kind of modeling was the 'Blitzbuild'! But I tidied up, and here I am, waiting for paint to dry, etc...Oh, yes...somewhere along the line I lost a wing mirror. Question...the tips of the artillery shells should be what colour? Time: almost forgot...a couple of boxes, some rucksacks, maybe a box of oranges... Current build time, 1 hour, 17 mins...2 sessions. --John
Jb65rams
Nice progress. I built this a couple of years ago, if I recall correctly there is a decal for the instrument panel but not mentioned on the instructions. I only found it once I had completed the build. Damp brushing worked fine. Any idea about the tips of the artillery shells in the bin?

It's still an exciting hobby...that moment when suddenly everything comes together, whether it took minutes or days...or weeks. It's hard to describe to someone who doesn't get it. The Big Push tonight... While that is all setting up....let's look at some Blackdog resin... Crates, boxes of food, knapsacks and tarps... That's enough...apples, some wine, tarps and bedrolls... Decals... Star on each side... What's left? Give it some matte spray, some dust and dirt, attach the Browning. That'll happen tonight. John Masters
I think I'm done. The Humbrol Matte Varnish made it look too dusty so I spent some time with a hairy brush and some Olive Drab and painted a lot. Some dry brushing, some weathering...grime and dust... I think it looks alright, especially with the Browning up top. I'll get some better photos tomorrow for the gallery. As of now, I'm done. Total build time: 2 hrs. 44min. --John
