MagisterMan
Good day, lads! The WIP I've finished my HMS Cairo - a 1/350 Trumpeter's HMS Calcutta kit. It's pretty good, no major problems during the build process were experienced. Unfortunately, not a single large set of photo etching has been released for the model yet, so I had to have fun and pull different elements from sets for other ships and buy small sets. 102mm gunsby Shipyards oerlikons by Infiny watercraft and pom-pom by BlackCat etched portholes and sealed caps 3D-printed HACS Mk.III aerial radars wooden deck by Hunter various ladders, rails and small things from stocks As for the kit modifications: two radar offices (between the bridge and fore funnel, between fore and aft funnels) a massive platform above the bridge splinter shields around the guns bulwarks at pom-pom position and the aft of the superstructure inner parts of funnels Hope you'll enjoy! Next projects are gonna be LCT(A)-2042 and MTB-34. And then I'll try to finish my HMS Ark Royal 🙃 Edited August 25, 2022 by MagisterMan 40
Bertie McBoatface
That’s very impressive. Beautifully tidy building and paint and the presentation is just gorgeous. Overall it’s a very classy piece suitable for display anywhere.
Ngantek
Fantastic work! Beautiful detail and presentation. The sharpness and tidy paintwork is really impressive. Seems I missed the WIP I'm afraid, but that just means lots of great reading to look forward to! Andy

ArnoldAmbrose
Gidday, I agree with the others above. She's a beautiful model with a very striking camo scheme. Very well done. I wish I could get one of these ships in 1/600 scale. Regards, Jeff.

It was quite hard to make a proper model with only a couple of pics and great amount of guessings! I really do not pretend to call this a model that mathes the original ship by 100%, but still hope that it's close enough 🙂 Thanks to all of your for the nice words! That is the best motivation source for me to keep up with the next one.
GrahamB
Lovely work. I think the C-class is very elegant and one of the most attractive designs of the WW1 period - and giving long service too. Cheers, GrahamB

Congratulations on a cracking model Rob Thanks Rob! I am now thinking of a possible return to C-class in the future: perhaps, one of the ships with ordinary 102mm guns, like HMS Coventry... 🤔 I've messed up things with the camo though, it should be a bit lower on the funnels and be covering part of the radar office between them. I've also missed a patch on the bridge, but it was to late to make corrections at the time 🙄 Edited September 4, 2022 by MagisterMan

Nanond
Very nice. I like the looks of these older light cruisers, and even better in camouflage. Nanond
