Gundylunch
What's the best red enamel to use on this colour scheme ?? - would Xtracolour Post office red be fairly accurate ??
The original Kit Builder
I used Humbrol 19, which matches the red Spencer Flack used on his aircraft. It is supposed to replicate Post Office Red and has always done so, though the most recent samples I have seem a tad less crimson, to my eye. That said, Tamiya X-7 and Xtracolor PO Red are both acceptable. In fact, I used the Tamiya product to do the tulip on the spinner and it is identical to H-19. Incidentally, the decals for the cheat lines are a fraction short. The solution is to apply them as far forward as necessary then use Tamiya Gloss White and Xtracolour U S True Blue to fill in with a very fine brush. Both match the decal exactly. The original Kit Builder
Watch out for the tulip decal, by the way. Airfix have given it 6 points, when it should have 5, which is why I masked and painted mine.
