Navy Revolt...1/48 Grumman F9F-2B Panther, Comando de la Aviación Naval Argentina

Recommended Posts

Soon to be started....

Hobbycraft edition of the HC-Trumpeter co-development

gonna do the Argentinean version

Argentinean Panthers, besides Corsairs and Texans, were used during the Argentinean Navy revolt in 1962/63, to defend their naval base against the army

Gidday Reini, I think Panthers were the aircraft in the film "The Bridges At Toko-Ri". I always thought they were a compact, nice-looking aircraft. I'm looking forward to seeing this come together. Regards, Jeff.

finally looks like a Panther

Although not the cat variety. 🙂 I know I said it earlier but I think she's a nice compact looking aircraft and I like how this is turning out. Regards, Jeff.

Didn't know our Panthers had those fences. I completely ignored that detail when building mine.

didn´t realize at first too

had to lower the gunsight or else the windscreen wouldn´t have fit

ejection seat handles done with lead wire

started with the decals

the kit doesn´t include wing walkways so my dad used the ones from the Printscale sheet, which were very thin, tended to wrap and behaved like rubber or a very elastic piece, ws tough to move them around and getting them in place without completely deforming....didn´t turn out that well, have to do some repainting

also used the wingtip lightning decals from Printscale because they fit better (leave out the position light and not  covering it like the kit decals)

second lightning decal attached

was my mistake, they didn´t fit correctly, my dad had to cut them apart so that the zigzag is in front of the position light

also has to do some repainting so that the lightning tip covers the full half of the tank´s front area
