Thanks CC , lots of temptations for me and I may have a look at some others, but will have to wait, as far too much other stuff on .  Lots more FAA stuff too.

Lovely redecorate on that Chris, the D-day stripes look just right to my eye, you've turned it into a gem. :)

Steve.

Thanks Steve, pleased with how the stripes turned out, it certainly has lifted this old model.

Thanks guys for your kind comments

That really does look better than the original finished kit.

Thanks for the support and encouragement to all and thanks for looking in.

If I could, all my Spits would be XIV high backs.

I'm just a glutten for that 5 bladed prop and long nose. Yours looks nicely understated and therefore terrific.

I also prefer it that the D-Day stripes don't cover the upper surfaces too 👍

Thanks WP, yes they do have a certain aggressive look to them.   Do like the 5 blades too, mind you, I like all Spitfires to be fair.

Beautifully finished! Super job Chris (love the pic with the prop blades!)

Thanks Charlie,  pleased with it, the 5 blades do look awesome.   Although I am very excited about an imminent 4 bladed prop Spitfire release!!!

Lovely upgrade Chris - those invasion stripes add another layer of interest to this bruiser!

Cheers,

Roger

Thanks Roger, the stripes are lovely, I got yhe Xtradecal sheet for the XIVe as I have another to do and an XVIII and as a bonus it had this high back on the sheet too, I have never used this many options on one sheet before, brilliant.

Smashing. Thanks also for the diversion onto realistic invasion stripes. I always paint mine as neatly as I can in case my wife tells me off for painting errors!

Regards,

Adrian

Thanks Adrian,  i hope your wife isn't too hsrd on you😉  I always shy away from the stripes but when I got the decal sheet for the Airfix kit I just had to make  use of it.

Thanks guys

Chris
