Brandy
Looking great! For the antenna wire, attach it at the back then stand it on it's nose. Attach a couple of small clips to give a bit of weight, apply CA to antenna mast then simply adjust so the wire hangs across it. When dry, snip the end off! Simples! Navy Bird
Well, I got the antenna wire on. It was only then that I realised that the forward mast is too short in the kit - in real life the mast was considerably taller. I assume this was so ingress wouldn't be fouled by the pilot having the wire snap across his neck. Bummer. I'm leaving the kit as it is since I do not want to mess around with the silly wires again. The main wire is EZ Line (Fine) and the lead-in wire is 0.008" Nitinol wire. I will add the insulators before I post the RFI. In 1:72 scale, I usually just put a dab or two of flat white where I want the insulator to be. I also made the port wing pitot tube - this design seems to be what was in use in 1940. Earlier pictures just have a straight tube coming out of the leading edge of the wing. So anyway, there she is. I guess she came out OK - there were a few moments in the build where I had my doubts. She'll add some colour to the display case. Silly old man health update: After surviving two bouts of Stage IV Lymphoma I've learned that I have Basal Cell skin cancer. Lucky me! And I don't sit around in the sun all day long working on my tan. Heck, I hardly ever go out of the house! Anyway, it doesn't seem to be too serious, but man they do take large chunks out of you removing the little guys. I'm going to look like a golf course - divots everywhere. Cheers, Bill 8 1
TheBaron
Dear Lord Bill but I'm sorry to hear of that Basal condition; your humour in adversity is an example to us all. 🫂

Dave Slowbuild
I wish I could make models as fine as this one, and I wish your bad run of health issues will soon turn a corner. Looking forward to your next WIP! Best wishes Dave
Brandy
I hope the treatment goes well and you don't end up too much like a golf course! The BT-1 looks great by the way. I'd be more than happy with that! Ian
giemme
The model looks mighty fine, Bill The golf course thing not so much, but I admire your spirit And I hope you get fixed soon and without much trouble. Ciao
Navy Bird
Thanks mates. I get regular exams by my dermatologist ever since they found some dysplastic nevus (pre-cancer) a few years ago. The basal cell thing is something they have to watch for and remove it when they find it. Sometimes they can freeze it, but usually it's the old hack and slash. I'm no longer a swimsuit model, so I'm not too worried about the divots. What's next? I'll be joining the Gloster Meteor group build. For sure I'm going to tackle the Airfix F.8 (MPM not the new one). Why? Because it's there, as George once said. Maybe even a simultaneous CyberHobby F.3. All in glorious 1:72 scale of course. Cheers, Bill
Terry1954
The BT looks splendid Bill (of course) and I do hope the treatment for your latest setback does the trick. Everything crossed here for that!🤞 I clearly need to check out the Gloster Meteor group build! Terry

Cookenbacher
May the divots do their intended job, Bill, and besides, bathing suit season is months away - off to the RFI!
