Do 17 Ka3, 3 Zrakoplovno jato, Borongaj, Croatia 1943, RS kit 1/72

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Within recently finished Do 17 STGB I was constructing three  Do 17: German P and Z as well as Croatian Ka3, The build thread is here:

I managed to finish two of them so far. Below is the first of them, build from 1/72 RS kit nearly OOB (I replaced the PE parts by scratch build one), Croatian army machine build in Yugoslavia under licence with Gnome-Rhone 14 cylinders double rows  engines and props of different pitch. Interesting is that the engines has different pitches that in French machines. In all I was constructing so far French bi-motors the propellers rotate that way, that the tips of blades near both sides of fuselage go down, here go up.

Here she is:

Excellent job! Where did you find that kit, since I am Croatian I would love to build one too

Thank you! - I bought it some years ago, as in case of all short runs you have to keep eyes open and react fast. They appears and then disappears rapidly from market...But the RS Dorniers appears frequently on the second hand market in moderate prices.

I hope you'll find it! :)

Also very nice. Because of that shape the aircraft was called the flying pencil.

Indeed, the long nose K variant is the most of all production Do 17s a pencil shape ! (if you do not consider the prototype, which is even more pencil-like...)
