bentwaters81tfw
Late entry for our club Falklands competition. I missed the deadline but I had a sick note from my Consultant excusing my absence. https://www.facebook.com/IPMS-Ipswich-190037197796389/photos/2668202356646515 It's a hefty chunk of resin. F-Decl sheet as the original had succumbed to age. (A bit like me)
cardiff guy
looks great, love the RAF heavies, I also appreciate the work to get the kit finished, well done.
David H
The only other one of these seen built up was by Robin Powell. It could not have been an easy job. Love the old Air Transport Command scheme!
Winded Penguin
Absolutely beautiful, thankyou for posting👍 I've happy memories of a flight half way across the world as a passenger on this aircraft, in the late 60's
TheyJammedKenny!
That's outstanding work on your part, and it looks exactly right! It must weigh a ton, though. Did you have to make any major corrections or tweaks?
bentwaters81tfw
No, it more or less just went together. The fuselage halves were a bit banana shaped, but clamps and epoxy sorted that out. Rather unwieldy when its together. Biggest pain is blending a vacform canopy to a resin fuselage. All the windows had to be filled with Clearfix, and the replacement decals had the windows printed on. Unsurprisingly they did not align, so I had to dab some blue paint here and there to correct things. Can't complain, it was £20 second hand. kiwitrogg
Woohoo......good to see another one built. It can be a painful process but well worth the effort aye. Did you spend lots of time straightening various pieces out with boiling water? And I agree about the windscreen area being a pain...I'm going through the same drama again with their Belfast right now. Great build of a great aircraft.
