Popular Post Fozzy
Hi everyone A few years ago my brother sadly passed away and whilst clearing out his flat I came across a 1:72 scale Airfix kit of the Spitfire Mk1a that I guess he was going to make. So I thought that I would make it as a tribute to him. I decided to make a special job and to make a cutaway on the port side ,showing all the internal detail and scratch build a Merlin engine and show the fuel cell housing!...I have scratch built many aircraft in my time but haven't scratch built detail at this scale ...so it was rather a challenging project that I thoroughly enjoyed and I only hope that my brother would have liked it! I hope you like the photos..... Thank you very much for taking a look! Cheers Fozzy 153
BristolBlue
Very very special. I love your threads but this one takes my admiration on any number of levels a step higher. Beautiful in execution and the emotion behind it.

BillF67
I’ve seen real Spitfires that don’t look as much like a Spitfire as this one. Astounding.
HP42
Truly outstanding work, especially so given the scale. A remarkable tribute to your brother as well as your modelling skills. 👍

Samuraiwarrior
That is an absolutely fantastic model, and what a way to honour your brother's memory. I am sure that many on BM will be astounded to see the level of detail, the skill and execution you have given to an Airfix Spitfire. I can only hope that one day my builds will be about 10% as good as yours. Exceptional in every respect and one your brother would have been proud of. Spitfire31
I'm sure that your brother would have reacted just like me, just now – saying "Wow!" and then having to pick up his jaw from the floor. Amazing modelling for a most worthy cause! Kind regards, Joachim

brianthemodeller
My 18 year old daughter has just scrolled through the pictures in reverse order and declared “this dude is insane and needs his head testing and probably new glasses”. I think that was a compliment!
