theplasticsurgeon
Rejoining with this Airfix Chipmunk, bought yesterday at IPMS Avon show, Thornbury. A great day. And my ATC powered flying log book page, showing 2 AEFs in 486 in 1975. It was red, white and grey in 1975, but hey-ho. AND I've got another plan for a RW&G Chippie with my 1/48 kit. That flight in WP697 on 17 Sept 1977. The pilot was a reserve officer, who was also a teacher at my school. My Tech Drawing teacher.
theplasticsurgeon
I've built this kit three times before, this Army Spitmunk, and BRIXMIS, earlier in this GB.
zebra
Very happy to see another Chippy in the GB!
theplasticsurgeon
So pilots being prepared. Hopalong could well lose his other leg to fit in, and the seats might be removed for headroom. Stuff I learned during the previous build.
theplasticsurgeon
Wings fitted, pilots fitted. Some surgery need to fit them in. White stripe areas airbrushed with Revell 5 matt white. Canopy fitted, front seat removed for the pilot not to cause obstruction.

theplasticsurgeon
Just for this GB, the 2 Chipmunks that I built for this GB, the 3 I've built recently, and the 4 I've built in total so far.
Corsairfoxfouruncle
Well done on this. Id like to do two of these someday. This black one and the Army co-op in camouflage. Beyond that it would depend on existing schemes and if another caught my fancy.
zebra
Very nice! You obviously like Chipmunks - who wouldn't? 1 hour ago, Corsairfoxfouruncle said: Well done on this. There are an awful lot of schemes to choose from! Xtradecal has done quite a few in 1/48, including some nice civilian options but strangely none of the black ones, and it would be nice to see them scaled down to 1/72. 1
