Thom216
That looks really good! And... it looks like the sailor in back is praying for a 'fun' time in port! Edited March 17, 2023 by Thom216 1
Alan P
Hi Pascal, sorry for spamming your notifications with 'likes' but this must be one of the most entertaining and instructive threads on the entire site! I originally thought it was just going to be a 3D realisation, which was impressive enough, but when the ship began to physically take shape, I couldn't help thinking this was just a revolution. I commend you on your skills and attention to detail, it is a superb project you have created from scratch.
Steve D
Where's the stoker? Those small boats make great larger scale projects, I'm really tempted Wonderful as ever Pascal, I won't get tired of saying it Cheers Steve
Iceman 29
@Thom216, Tks Thom, I only had this one sitting down to give the scale, at the moment I have to do others sitting in other postures. 🤔 @Alan P : Thanks Alan, It gives me courage to continue this pharaonic project. @Steve : " Where's the stoker?" It snores at the bottom of the engine room.. 🙄 I redesigned the cover, the result is much more convincing, after the advice of a very competent friend. V1. V2. (Roadster style!) 😜
Andreas.R
Hello Pascal How about leaving off the cover/roof, all the wonderfull details of the boiler and the steam-engine now become invisible? I think the hole for the funnel will be problematic to print anyway. Regards Andreas
Dubz
In would not print the cover but made it from tissue paper or else. Great build! 🙂 Dirk

For the print, it should do. If not, it will be done in japanese paper or equivalent. (Dirk) 6

ArnoldAmbrose
Gidday Pascal aka @Iceman 29, I agree with the others, it would be good to see the interior of at least one of the steam boats, to see the detail of the boilers etc. As with the rest of the model, the detail is superb. Regards, Jeff.
Brandy
Those steam launches have come come out beautifully. Incredible detail in such a small scale! Ian
Iceman 29
I'm starting to lay the canvas for the 5mts skiff ( Youyou in french ). It should be quick. Thanks Alain for the detailed plans.

Iceman 29
This nice little boat is now finished, I simplified it a bit because of the size ( 25 mm long ), I'm going to print it now and go to the 13 mts one, there is only one, it is placed at the top on the port side on the platform, it has a special place because it is very long.
Jerry L
Pascal, great work as usual from you. Can you tell me how much time you have spent on the design and printing of the skiff?

Iceman 29
Youyou printed with 20 micron layers with Photon Ultra. Putting in place the canvas of the 13 mts boat, as I only have the plan of the 10 mts boat, I have very slightly lowered the vertical scale of the hull.

Mr. Church
Bravo, j'aime bien. Lovely to see such a detailed model of such an historic and rarely modelled ship.
Iceman 29
Merci! The hull of this big 13 mts boat is almost finished. I'll see if I place the missing ribs or not, it's going to take some time, but it would be nicer and fairer. I'll be able to furnish the interior now.

Iceman 29
Tks Stuart! 😜 I had time tonight to find the right method with the drawing program to create fake/real frames in addition to the ones used for the hull drawing, without spending hours, given the number. With all the exposed ribs, it looks much better of course. It needs to be tweaked a bit. More tomorrow.
Steve D
Excellent work as ever Pascal. Maybe it doesn't matter at this scale, but are all these boats carvel, I would expect all but the large power boats to be clinker-built? Really, what I guess I'm saying is that I'd love to see how you would draw a clinker hull. I've given it a lot of thought, for moulds. My hulls are all paper mache but I need to build a buck and printing is an interesting idea for that. It could include the ribs and make a quick and easy high definition inner shell Cheers Steve
Zoran Srb
This is mindboggling project, in comparably very short time, and every word of praise is well deserved 👏👏👏... Cant wait to see her done. Btw, how do you deal with dust accumulation during construction?
