Nice builds.

The wider landing gear would have benefitted the rookie 109 pilots if it had been retained from the 209.

True but moving the landing gear mechanism close in to the fuselage gave them more space in the wing to play with. I assume this was enable better weapons systems but maybe they improved the wing profile? Interested to know. The Spit followed the same design with the same drawbacks/advantages.

Good point. They moved two wing guns close into the fuselage didn't they. I presume they shot though the prop?

Cheers Martin, yes, I just hope I've got enough time to build them :clif:.

Cracking good 209 Stuart. Very impressed with the blue finish. That Belgian beer seems to work wonders!

Thanks Terry, beer works wonders, if only that was the case .

Nice build BTW. I really like what you've done with this little kit.

Cheers Pete, wasn't smooth sailing all the way but we manage.

As far as future racers concerned...

I have one or two to choose from but need to get my Canadair Sabres done first.

Lovely build, good choice of colour in the end. The Heston Napier looks fantastic too, especially given the nondescript blobs from whence it came. Looking forward to having a go at this kit as well; I too have a soft spot for inter-war racers.

Quite the stash you have there! My vote is for that Karaya(?) Gloster III
