GiampieroSilvestri
Have the North Korean airforce Nanchang Q-5s been repainted in the same colours of their Mig-29,Mig-21 and Mig-23 or are they still in natural metal? Thank you very much Saluti Giampiero

modelldoc
I don't where this information is from. But I work decades on the topic about KPAAF and found out with pictures the Su-7 Fitter and the Nanchang FT-6 trainer, never the Nanchang Q-5. In lot books and websites they wrote it, but nobody show us a photo. NK - no Nanchang Q-5 modelldoc

NK - no Nanchang Q-5 modelldoc But why does the Trumpeter 1/72 scale model include the markings for North Korea airforce Nanchang Q-5 aircraft number "red 602" and the Armycast decals sheet also has markings for the same aircraft together with decals for Chinese,Sudanese,Myanmar and Pakistani aircraft, countries from which it is a proven fact that they fly it?The informations about it must come from somewhere. modelldoc
In my Trumpeter kit are not North Korean markings: https://www.flickr.com/photos/21603181@N08/49002989127/in/photolist-2hEe8qT-pFKUY4 So I'm not sure which do you have. BTW, in 1989 Hobbycraft of Canada offer a MiG-29 Fulcrum with markings for the Finnish Air Force. True? Never ever. Lots of books wrote, that the Nanchang Q-5 is in NK service, but nobody shows a picture, show us a picture and than you are right in all other occasions it is a fake. Sorry, that is the reality. modelldoc
GiampieroSilvestri
No problem!🙂 This is the decal sheet and below a picture of the marking instructions from the ipms Deutschland internet page. modelldoc
Well, but this says nothing. Trumpeter has often mistakes look here: http://hsfeatures.com/features04/fw190d924cc_1.htm and so I wait for a picture. BTW, in the book about the Chinese aircraft by Yefim Gordon (here: https://www.crecy.co.uk/yefim-gordon-d-komissarov) is no word about Nanchang Q-5 in NK service. Sorry for that. modelldoc

modelldoc
About the facts, Wikipedia wrote: North Korea Korean People's Air Force received 40 airplanes in 1982. The only source is: "Trade Registers". armstrade.sipri.org. Retrieved 2021-08-11. But the important sentence is this: "However, they have never been seen in service nor captured on satellite imagery, and according to statistics from GlobalSecurity.org," Mistakes in conclusion with the NK forces are normal. Fkight International wrote on December 1990, the KPAAF has 12 Aero L-39 Albatros trainer - false, no one of these planes Stijn Mitzer and Joost Oliemans had no information in the book 2020,: The armed forces of North Korea. gave no one word about the Nanchang Q-5. So, sorry, no real picture, a NK Nanchang Q-5 is a fake. modelldoc
