Always a satisfying moment when the full camo scheme goes down. It's looking up to your usual impeccable standards, Alistair,

Cheers,

Andy

Thanks for your very kind words Andy.

Looking very smart Alistair, keen to see how you approach the weathering. Watch out for those landing lights though, I found that they were not a great fit at all (though of course the possibility of operator error can by no means be ruled out).

There it is, looking very smart in its shiny livery.  Nice paint job Alistair, and the decals have given it life.

Thanks Mark,

It's doing the job of being a fun easy build and taking my mind off planning the Sunderland.

Craig.

Thanks Craig,

I'll do plenty of dry fitting on the landing lights to see how they go.

As to the weathering. It'll be some oil staining on the underside, a light wash and a quick oil dot filter for some tonal variation.

Nothing major or spectacular I just want a slightly used look to it.

Cheers,

Alistair

Quick distraction if I may. I've just been reading up on this technique. What thinner do you use for smearing the dots together once they've been applied?

Thanks,

Craig.

No Worries Craig,

No mystery or exotic substances I just use bog standard el cheapo White Spirit for B&M.

Hope that helps.

The main fuselage got a light weathering with a Flory Dark Dirt wash and an oil dot filter, followed by some oil leakage.

Wheels and undercarriage on along with the Radio Mast and pitot.

Some exhaust and gun staining done along with staining on the undercarriage doors and wheels dusted up a bit.

Still to do.

Matt coat on fuselage and satin coat on prop.

Wing lights to fit and underside lamp to finish.

Wingtip Nav lights to paint

Rig the aerial.

Some of this will be done tomorrow.

Thanks for looking,

Cheers,

Alistair

Looks very good Ali

one little point, touch in with Dark Green the lower edge of the canopy.   The Dark Green rund under the canopy, which you can't really touch in,  but the frame would be all one colour,

A minor touch up as I'd let the Dark Earth stray onto the canopy.

Huge thanks and shout out to Troy Smith for letting me know about it. Very much appreciated.

Then on to a matt coat and after that the wing lights were fitted along with the prop.

Nav lights touched in underside lamp Krystal Kleared with Clear Orange, some Nuln Oil placed in the gun ports and finally the aerial rigged.

That's all getting left to cook off properly and then I'll unmask the canopy and that as they say should be that.

Thanks for looking,

Alistair

Lovely Hurricane Alistair, as usual you’ve produced a very nice result.  I saw the Harvard and though “what?” Even though I’d already seen the Swordfish WIP 🤦‍♂️😂

Thanks Mark, very kind.

The Harvard was just an attempt to cause a double take.

Sorry for being a git. :D

Alistair

Nice try Alistair. Shame it’s utterly ruined by the glaringly incorrect inner canopy framing colour.

I jest of course. Another little beauty knocked off in record time, finished superbly and all done while also wrestling with the Sunderland. I don’t know how you do it!

Craig.
