Nanond
My model depicts IJN heavy cruiser Aoba at the end of WWII as a wreck in Kure harbour. Many photos of the wreck are available, except for the starboard side. I was also inspired by Marijn Van Gil and his wreck of IJN carrier Amagi. I used the Hasegawa 1/700 kit of IJN Aoba as a starting point, added a Rainbow model PE set for the kit, and various other modifications. The WIP photos are available here on this forum. Gidday Nanond, a friend of mine once said that Japanese cruisers "looked weird". To some western eyes that may be the case but I quite liked the look of them, and I believe their crews knew how to use them. They gave us a bleeding nose on more than one occasion. This is a superb model, although it's a shame to see a ship like this reduced to such a state. But that's war I guess. As I said, this is a superb model but then yours always are. Hi, There might be something with Imgbox. It looks ok when I access it though. Maybe it's time to look for another site to put my photos.

Rob 1
Oh wow, that is stunning. I've seen the photos and video of the real thing with great interest a few times, so seeing this model seems familiar, which is nice.

Bertie McBoatface
Who doesn't love a wreck, with its sad intimations of mortality and the nemesis of the tyrants. Very nicely done Nanond. You would do well in the company of the Entropists, judging from this rusting relic.
