There's quite a few, but as ever it's hard to whittle down six days worth, especially given the number of highlights on show this year. Wednesday through to Friday were spent entirely in P&V West, three great days with ATC kindly sending just about everything we could have asked for down Bravo. The Hungarian Hind arrival was epic, and the Friday afternoon will live long in the memory. Sunday was spent entirely at crowd centre; In retrospect, I should have spent more time on the Saturday at show centre as it was the better day for shooting the flying, but never mind... I was a little concerned about how the building work would affect shots this year, the backdrop is a complete mess, but actually wasn't as bad as I feared- runway 09 in use was a blessing in disguise really, both for that reason and for better light early on. I must say I'd forgotten how good the west end P&V can be when aircraft use the full runway distance and its a spot I've tended top overlook in recent years. Next year I'm going back there! Mark There's a reason we say West in best For me personally, it is 100% the best place to be for arrivals- better backdrop, especially this year where the East end is literally a building site!- and offers some amazing angles of the aircraft that you can't get anywhere else. As you might be able to tell I simply love the head on shots down Bravo! I understand the appeal of getting everything in the air down East, but I take a quality over quantity approach for arrivals safe in the knowledge I'll likely catch most things in the air on the Monday. Martin Arrivals days have become my favourite days over the showdays in recent years, much more relaxed, better photo ops and if you do them all, you'll see just about everything practice their displays too. Thanks, also, for your annotations to each shot, especially important to those, like me, who may be unfamiliar with many of the participants, e.g.the Epsilon, Leonardo, Ghibli and Saab Supporter, none of which we'll see down here. My favourites - the An-30, the Swedish contingent, the Hip & Hinds, Beluga and Golden Eagles who seem to have been a popular visitor over what seems to have been a few weeks. Again, many thanks.
