Spitfire Mk.Vc Centreline Bomb Rack for 250lb Bomb

Good day,

I‘m looking for some information on the centreline bomb carriers/racks fitted to the 2 Squadron SAAF Spitfire Mk.Vc’s, as depicted in this still from the famous film footage.

1) Can I use the Eduard set as per the images, but replacing the 500lb bomb in the set for the 250lb one in the kit? Or were the shapes maybe different?

2) The rear of the bulky Vokes filter prevents the rack from being attached to the replicated attachment points on the model’s belly. Where extensions maybe added to the attachment points for the rack to clear the obstruction?

Thanks in advance for your inputs.

Its a RAF Universal Bomb carrier. Used on all RAF Aircraft used with 1000lb 500lb and 250lb bombs.

Looks like the triangular piece needs to be put further back, so that it fits just in front of the underbelly light.   Even without the Vokes, the standard air intake duct would of still been in the way as currently position on the photographed model?

As per the diagram posted by @jackg, the front mounting points are on frame 6.

Frame 5 is the firewall bulkhead, which is where the model photo's show it incorrectly mounted.

Frame 8 is the instrument panel frame, frame 6 is approx 1/4 back from the firewall to the instrument panel

The rear mount is on frame 9 which is approx half way between the instrument panel and the front edge of the cockpit door

The tail mounting location is 1/2 way between the belly light and the rectangular panel ahead of it. And, looking at the diagram, it looks like the forward attach points are somewhat built up in layers to create a bit of space between the bracket and the belly.
