Michael, drawing up the chair to have a good look. How well do the decks fit? Looking good so far. I looks like you have a wooden deck for it in the background, did you purchase other after market items?

They fit well, I'm in progress of making the wooden decks for fore and aft. I have wooden flight deck and both Eduard kits. I also have 5" guns and whaleboats from Black Cat. I'll probably draw some more PE stuff in the process...

Holidays out of the way, time to go back to my little shipyard ;) Hull primed, it requires 2-3 little interventions, but in general I'm out of the woods. Decks fit, that's a relief, not bad for the first time ;)

Done, now it's time to put proper color over that undercoat.

Don't worry I won't bore you with the whole process for all colors ;) Just wanted to show the process itself on one example.

As always with this color, what's on the picture looks nothing like the real thing ;)

It's more brown-ish and with a bit more contrast. Maybe it'll be better visible after lumping all the seaweed and other sh..... :D

If anyone knows why I'm always failing in taking pictures of that kind of colors, I'd gladly get educated ;)

A lot of work in that hull painting you've done there, looks good. As for your picture taking...is it phone or camera? Phone cameras tend to 'enhance' colours to make them more pleasing. Dedicated cameras are much better, especially when taking Whether this is your issue, I don't know but its worth thinking about if you're wanting accurate pictures.

It's camera and fully artificial light, so weather is no issue. There's never a problem with any other type of color. I'm not saying I'm a photo-master, but I think that I can do decent photos, as long as it doesn't involve hull red-ish

Hello,
I have some experience in photography and image processing. Colour rendering in red is a problem with all cameras. The solution is to shoot in Raw format and customize the profile of the camera with a tool like this:
