The RS200 has turned into a unicorn kit before it’s been released 🤣🤣🤣

A little bit like it's actual real life rally career ! I'm blaming brexit , climate change etc ....

Cool, thanks. I guess a lot of the car must be stock production parts.

Very little really I'd say - maybe the basic shell, front grille and some other body parts.... :)

I guess it's how much is homologated that is allowed to change. I suspect bumpers, wings (fenders!), bonnet (hood!) spoilers and maybe the roof will be carbon fibre. Engine, gearbox, suspension, brakes and other running gear will be bespoke to the rally car, as will the majority of the interior - maybe the basic dashboard remains but with all replacement rally stuff fitted.

Do you think that's what's happened to the Ascona 400 kits too Gary...??!! 🤣

I'm still waiting for them to announce a state of the art Mk2 Escort. But I'll have likely shuffled off this mortal coil before it arrives if they do...!!

I like to think of it as a carrot  being dangled in front of a donkey with all these supposed kit releases  !

You have finished the model with its demanding green parts of the livery very well indeed and overcome the problems on the way. Good work!

Thank you . The hardest part of the livery was cutting the black pinstripes off the decals.  I don't have a steady enough hand to paint them on .

Still more stock than a NASCAR. I like those to but rallys more fun to watch.

@Vesa Jussila I did the belts on the Skoda differently to my usual way . I used the belt decals on the front of the seats and then I used a red marker pen to colour a strip of masking tape which I then cut into 3mm strips to form the longer lengths to their anchor points. These then stuck easily through the seat and under the decals . I used some PE buckles to detail . Making up seatbelt/ harnesses is very fiddly , but rewarding when done . I find ribbon too flexible and frays too much .

  Good luck

   Gary

Superglue gel , cut the end of the ribbon at a very sharp angle and touch the end to the glue , then pinch the ribbon and pull it through your fingers quickly to remove the excess , note I said quickly , if you don’t you will become attached to the ribbon , as for the texture I usually go to my local fabric shop and they sell ribbon that isn’t so textured in pretty much any colour of the rainbow 👍

I see that there is no Great Britain event this year on the WRC calendar!

I've seen the latest ad on TV for the Fabia. The company is now pronounced 'SHKODA'!

Gary - Great build of that Skoda rally car. Very tidy and clean and I'm certain spraying that green gave a better result too. I too await the unicorn-like next releases from Belkits, including the RS200. (and the Maxi Megane).

And it always has been / should have been :)  The little V on top of the S in Škoda indicated a "Sh" sound in the Czech language.   The same V on top also would turn a Czech C into a "Ch". It's always been a part of the word Škoda, it was just not so prominent on the older 1980s logos and no doubt entirely ignored by the UK marketing agencies of the time.

Škoda translates roughly into something like "Too bad" or "What a pity". The exact opposite sentiment to what I'd apply to @Windy37's excellent build.

Thanks for the comments , @galaxyg . I wonder what significance the v in Skodas vRS sports models has ?  Also there’s no way I could have made the green decals conform to the body shapes , so spraying was the easiest option .
