1/72 Revell AEW Shackleton

Recommended Posts

Very nice indeed, I have one of these in my stash, it is a shame that Airfix did not add the same level of detail with the rivets as Revell's Shackleton as the Airfix kit is the more accurate but less detailed of the two

It just screams out "20,000 rivets flying in close formation". Great build!

Very kind Jo NZ!

Looks good. What are the other flags next to the waist roundels for?

Many thanks busnproplinerfan! The bars either side of the roundels are squadron identification  bars (No 8 Squadron) from their earlier days of flying fighters

Very nicely done. I prefer the Revell over the Airfix kit, when subtly weathered, like yours,  those rivets just pop.

Many thanks Gazza I....I haven't built the Airfix version so I can't comment really. I enjoyed the Revell build though!

Absolutely love it ! The very subtle weathering on the upper wings is beautifully done, and your model is a fitting tribute to a grand old lady 😊

That's a very nice build and looks very realistic. The Revell Kit defiantly beats the Airfix for details as the rivet detail is so important to a Shack ......

Very nice, thank you for sharing, it looks real on that runway. Incidently what is that runway/base you have it on?
