Hermione Granger

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Another figure printed at home on my Sonic mini4K.

Model from stepanovsculpts, bought on cgtrader.

Brush painted with acrylics.

Still some techniques to improve, but my friend who got this as a birthday present was pretty happy, so am I.

She's very well endowed for a 12yr old!

Wasn’t that the joke about the films, I’m pretty sure that there were memes about it.  It was all because the actors were ageing faster than the characters.  Can’t remember specifically which two films, but Hermione finished the school year in July for summer holidays flat chested at the end of one film and returned to school the following September for the next year at the start of the next film with boobs.

But more distateful digital sculpture do exist. Kind of nsfw..😬

That is certainly true and those kinds of sculpture are so obviously pornographic that no-one would post them here. I find the Hermione figure objectionable for the way it sexualises a book and movie character who was aged between 11 and 16, a child. It's a character from a children's book and film turned into something unsuitable for children. Hermione was the clever girl next door and this sculpture implies that it's OK for adults to see her as sexually desirable. Would you show it to your pastor, your mother? If not, it has no place here in my opinion. Other opinions are available. 🤔

I note that four of the five members who have commented mentioned the sexual element of the work. It seems to be undeniable. I also think it likely that your painting skills displayed on on a less controversial subject would have resulted in two or three times as many comments and likes. I personally took a long time deciding whether to make a comment, do nothing, or report the topic. It's right on the edge for a family website.

@Mike could we have some guidance here?

It's a grey area because she's supposed to be at school, although clearly of an age where she's not in this sculpture at least.  I'm not massively fond of the theme of the sculpt, although the painting is very good, but it wouldn't have me reaching for my smelling salts.  The lady is dressed at least, and that's a hard and fast line, with the one exception being nose art, where the pics are historically accurate and aren't zoomed in on nakedness.  You could argue this depicts her reprising her role at a later date, or anything TBH.  Sexiness is in the eye of the beholder, so I'm not having an issue with it if I'm honest.  She does nothing much for me as a person, the books and movies leave me cold, so for that reason I'm out.

I don't think @rom1 would have posted his figure if he thought it might titillate or disgust us.  He's just proud of his latest paint and print job.

Lastly, Britney Spears danced about dressed as a school girl back in the day, being overtly provocative, so do we retrospectively ban that too?  Yes, but for the horrible grammar and incitement to domestic violence, not the pom poms

No I'm sure that he didn't. And he's right to be proud of the painting, It's very good.

Thanks for defining the house rules for me.

Hi guys

Of course i did not want to hurt anyone.

And honnestly did not think of the "child" thing as se obviously is an adult in the sculpture.

But I understand it can be seen as distateful.

Have a nice day😉

Nice Model Romain, Never liked Painting Figure as its too hard but that is done very nicely especially the jumper and shadowing.

if you looked up the lad who makes these it is clearly described as : Hermione adult 3D print model

https://www.cgtrader.com/3d-print-models/miniatures/figurines/hermione

Bit like fancy dress grown up style.

Obviously touched a nerve with some of the lads shut away in their rooms for too long making 109;s all day long   :)

Now the Reily Reid one however......:) A Pressie for the Buddy for Xmas...sorted

Just had a look at the website mentioned two posts above - I had no idea you could buy printing-files for such a huge variety of stuff. Three-and-a-half thousand pages of products!

Thanks for sharing with us.
