Camouflage and Custard. Dual Tiger Moth Build. 1/48 RFI

Camouflage and Custard.

Dual Tiger Moth Build. 1/48  RFI

Afternoon Britmodellers.

Here is the RFI for my latest build and probably my last multi build for a while.  Don't get me wrong building many kits at once sure has its allure but for me its's just too much. I'm a one kit man from now on.

Regardless these two beauties got built and they look smashing if I do say myself in a sunny west Midlands garden sometime in June 22.

Thanks to all that followed the build HERE.

And I hope you like the results.

Off we go then.

lets start with:

DH82A Tiger Moth

T7189/LIA of 780 Naval Air Squadron.

Royal Navy 1943

:wow: These two are just amazing! :worthy:  Among all things, the rigging looks impeccable and definitely sets them off, along with you usual masterful weathering!

FWIW, the Custard one is my fav

Johnny,

Lovely builds the both, and a very pleasurable WIP too. Sufficient inspiration to get on with rigging my Gladiator (and Albacore, and Sunderland!). Great work sir,

Cheers,

Roger

Great builds but if you’ll forgive me for saying so you’ve missed a key feature on the rigging- Airfix don’t mention it in their instructions so it’s easy to miss- where the interplane rigging wires X there is a wooden stick which locks them together it’s just less than chord in length and is called the ‘javelin’

if you look at any full-size Tiger moth photo you’ll see it and it’s easy to miss!

matter of minutes to knock one up for each side they’re usually black - sorry to be that guy but it kept out at me and will finish off  a great build!

You’re not wrong. Airfix do call it out actually but it’s not very clear where they go. I was going to add them but got so frustrated that I couldn’t see which chords they attached to I figured I’d way tell I see one in the flesh and as them after the fact. 😍
