Popular Post VolkerR.
Not the easiest of all kits, but very rewarding in the end. Lots of resin, some PE, a typical Classic Airframes kit. Fit is not too bad, but the plastic parts needed a lot of attention, filler and sanding. But the result is something that looks like a SM-79. This one is a torpedo bomber of 253 sqn. stationed in Rhodes/Greece 1943. These aircraft carried only a single torpedo. The camo scheme is made of Neutral Grey (Tamiya) and RLM 83 (Gunze). The fotos were made by my friend Frank Lustig who knows how to do the trick. Thanks for looking! Volker 71

Walter
Very clean build if it's an old kit it sure doesn't look like it.

28ZComeback
I have not seen this color scheme from Rhodes and find your rendition to be excellent. The color scheme is gorgeous. As an aside, my father was raised near Kyrenia, Cyprus, and his village near a natural harbor was bombed a few times by SM.79s and Ju-87's and Ju-88's. I asked him about color schemes and he said "the only ones I saw were black" and "any time the planes came over I buried my face deep in the slit trench outside our school." Thank you again for posting this.
HansReggelsen
A very nice model of a classic plane - one could almost call it a classic airframe! I had this kit many moons ago but shied away from building it - your's look truly good! Cheers Hans J
Maginot
Looks terrific. Got a soft spot for Italian tri-motori. Fortunate enough to see MM45508 at Bracciano many years ago.
Pantherhawk27263
That is absolutely beautiful!!! WWII is not really my era for modelling, but this is one of my favorite planes from that time. You really did it justice.

Mike
Very nice. I didn't actually know they did one - I thought the Trumpeter one was the only choice. Which one is deemed to be the better kit I wonder?

I would sure buy another one, but they are hard to find and expensive.

They're on eBay starting at £100 Mind you, there are a few detail sets that fix the Trumpeter kit, and IIRC they cost about as much... damned if you do, damned if you don't! I'm very glad I have a short attention span and poor memory
