ROKAF Black Eagles crewing in, taxying out, taking off and powering down (batch 3 added 31/07/22)

Recommended Posts

Hi. I joined the Centre of Aviation Photography event at Boscombe Down on Friday - and it was ACE!

The Black Eagles were fantastic hosts!

I hope you enjoy the images because I was trying to spotlight the people.

Very nice indeed! I like the human aspect as it brings the subject to life.

It was a very enjoyable morning wasn't it?

Thanks very much, Latinbear. A very enjoyable morning and the ROKAF guys and girls were so friendly!

  • Alpha Delta 210 changed the title to ROKAF Black Eagles crewing in, taxying out, taking off and powering down (batch 2 added 10/07/22)

Here are some more images from Boscombe Down last Friday when I had the great privilege of photographing the Black Eagles as they departed for Southport, returning around 75 minutes later.

Another grand day out Leigh!  Some excellent and unique shots, interesting 'people' images, and from a team that appear most obliging. A real taster for their displays at RIAT next weekend.

Hi Mark. I'm pleased that you enjoyed the selection of images (I took over 600!😊) As we've said before, it is quite difficult to produce different and imaginative aviation images, so I decided to concentrate on the people as far as possible. The team was very obliging and I can't wait to see them again at RIAT.

Outstanding pics, that head-on shot is so perfectly 'centre'! Very nice to see the spread of pics, really tells the tale of the day.

Thanks Parabat. I aimed to tell a story with the pictures, so I'm delighted that you think I've achieved that.

Hello again

After calming down from the aviation overload that is RIAT, I decided to revisit my Black Eagles images from an epic morning at Boscombe Down in early July.

Continuing my "people" theme, I wanted to emphasise the teamwork that makes the dream work!🤣

I saw the team display at Waddington and RIAT in 2012 and my view has not changed - they are the best military aerobatic demonstration team that I have seen!

Thank you from me to the men and women of the 53rd Air Demonstration Group, the Black Eagles! 감사합니다 (gam sa ham nida)

From the Thursday practice at Fairford, a representation of the Taeguk from the national flag which symbolises the balance of the universe, a concept that is based on the traditional um-yang philosophy of the region. So refreshing after all the hearts drawn in the sky!!

Great pics, really highlights that it's not just 'a' pilot that makes these jets able to take to the sky. Lovely stuff.

Thanks Parabat.  That is what I was trying to portray in my photo-essay.👍

I think that day will go down as one of my favourite aviation days of recent years!
