The Clyde Puffer 'Sitka' by Neomega Resin 1/144 scale

Recommended Posts

I have really enjoyed building this little boat.

The paint I used was mainly ColourCoats with some of the smaller detail Tamiya Acrylic.

I didn't use the resin mast that was included with this kit, as it was far too flimsy, so I made one using a SeaMaster blank with some little brass ball ended rigging pieces, with flats filed on them.

Perhaps a bit over scale, but they work.

I was looking at it this morning and came to the conclusion that the tarp cover over the cargo hatch need some patches, so.....

I've done a minimum of rigging, compared to the real boats, which have quite complicated pulley systems.

As always, Bobs Buckles were used as rigging anchor points.

There weren't many parts in this kit, so I finished it quite quickly.

There will be a name plate, but I forgot to order it, until yesterday.

Anyway, here are few pictures, I hope you like them, made a change being able to use the sunshine instead of artificial light.

The stern lettering is a bit wonky. Sorry.

Gidday Jon, she's a nice little vessel, she looks great. And it answers my question in the WIP thread regarding the wires of the pulleys. 🙂 I take it the helmsman has his brew mug next to the compass?

Great job. Regards, Jeff.

That’s grand Jon.

the rigging is just right. I like the shrouds especially. I’ve read that if you put in every bit of rope the model starts looking strange. We have to reduce and simplify everything to the same extent apparently.

I wouldn’t swim in that harbour water!

Those were the days of honest, no nonsense, good old fashioned pollution. Not a piece of plastic in sight. :giggle:
