Hello friends. This was my last Sparviero, done a few months ago using the very good 3D Model kits resin set for the bomb bay and the unusual mechanism used to pull bombs in their locations (tail down). Having done five of those birds, a lot of work has to be done to improve details, mainly the interior, wheel bays, wheels, etc. This is the bomber version, so no torpedo here. It depicts a plane from the 256° Squadriglia BT, 109° Gruppo, 36° Stormo in 1940, this explains the lack of the white fuselage band. The twin towers on the tail refers to the city of Bologna. Most of the markings were made with masks. The model was difficult to photograph due to size and lack of space. Thanks for watching!

I reckon that's pretty much outstanding! From the glimpses of the interior detailing to the beautifully executed camouflage pattern. Bellisimo (excuse spelling).

A beautiful model. The paintwork and detailing is outstanding.

If I may be permitted to offer a suggestion regarding photography, a photo editing programme could add something more to the presentation. I use Photoshop, but there are many others out there.

Using one of your shots, I have brightened the image with the auto contrast button and painted in the corners of the shot to match the rest of the layout. Britmodeller pages have a white background by default that allows the light areas only to now be burned to match, leaving just the plane centre stage. The model is as you built it, just the background brightened to remove it. It's a very simple and quick process.

Really nice `79 there Jean, one of those aircraft I wish the Chinese had used so I could fit one in the collection

Uh Russ, there were a few SM.79s in China. Just earlier version. You can convert the Trumpeter kit to SM79 A standards with some balsa wood, vac machine and elbow grease. I think a few SM.75s flew to Manchuria.

Thanks, I`ll have another look into them🙂

Holy moly, utterly stunning! Especially considering that you worked with the Classic Airframes kit - I have built my fair share of CA kits over the years (and still have a couple unassembled ones in my stash) but no experience of the SM.79 kit, so I am assuming that it had triple the issues than some of the other CA kits ;)

You have correctly guessed the amount of work involved in this project. You can also add the whole interior, fuselage and cockpit made from scratch. Even with this, the CA kit is much better than the Trumpy crap. Best regards.

- Superb work Jeannot, may I say as usual, the resin kit looks top notched, it spare a lot of scratch job with a very nice rendering, I remember your first SM 79 with the inside tubing structure  entirely "hand made".This gave me the idea to built  the same using yours as pattern but it never concretised........
