I agree. Despite this, many of us seem to be married or have a SWMBO in the wings. Perhaps we have a mysterious  aura that attracts women?

Maybe the mods could bottle and sell "Eau de Brittmodeller"

Good idea but who's  going to model it

Isn't that 'Extra Thin' by Tamiya?

My partner prefers it to 'Level 400' by Monsieur Couleur. That stuff makes her eyes water.

... to say nothing about the "moonshine" I got from the painting booths at the Volvo factory - makes the wallpaper curl up and...

At least it keeps the flies away!

Unfortunately it does keep all other humans away too.

Cheers, Moggy the Stinky cat

We have. It's called loyalty. We might buy a kit behind their backs from time to time but that's the limit of our unfaithfulness.

Last week I discovered some snobbery in local modelling here in N.I.

There is a chap who displays 1/35 armour at model railway shows.

My club needs to get some new members and I found that one of our current members sort-of knows this chap as he's in one of the model railway clubs

I asked our club member to get in touch with the armour modeller and encourage him to join our club, which costs nowt

Reply came back 'No way, You lot only build little aeroplanes and not very well either'

~~ If its a model kit we have members who will build it whether it be plastic, resin, card, white-metal et cetera. And several of our club members have won awards for their builds and one member even has vignettes and large dioramas in museums in Europe and Australia

You aren't supposed to inhale the paint thinner fumes, never mind drink the stuff...

Well if he does tanks at a train show he's  off the rails and not on the right track. Or is he too freightened to play with the big boys?

Dick.

I could go on but I won't.

Thank heaven for that says every one

No.... normal for this site.  At our age airbrush has a silent H.

Dick.   67 and still using crayons.

A LOONG time ago I built what amounted to a miniature railgun 😜

I had to take it apart since it worked all too well - one steel dart went through a door.... 🤪

(I was "rusticated" for two days - the event took place during a Physics lesson. However I got top marks for my little "accelerator")

I can rebuild it and use it on his little tonks - ultramodern tank-killer!

It fits well with the model railway ethics - it has to move AND be in miniature 🤣

Cheers, Moggy the mad professor
