You must have a stripey spitfire the shelf isn't complete without at least one. 8 hours ago, Dunny said: Nice work - that Dark Dirt wash is just the ticket Thanks Roger, Most kind. opus999
That looks terrific so far! It's a shame about the stickers... I've never had any issues with Eduard's decals, maybe you got the Friday afternoon batch?

To be fair it was only the stencil decals that were an issue, and I've not had a problem with Eduard decals before. Must just've been a bad batch. AliGauld
After the complete feeling of existential failure that came after finishing the Sunderland I just didn't know what to do with myself and then work got in the way. Finally got a day off so the Mark.IXc is on her feet. Some staining on the underside was also done. And the prop has been put together. Still to do, Fit the Mast, Pitot and underwing IFF aerial. Clear coat and unmask. Should get that done in the next couple of days. Thanks for looking, Cheers, Alistair

opus999
Wow, that looks terrific! The underside staining is masterfully done. I struggle with that, myself... I found a couple photos of unbelievably filthy spitfire undersides and unfortunately used that as justification to get out of control on a couple of my earlier builds. I've since learned to be more subtle, but I haven't been able to achieve the level of authenticity that you've got here! Nice work!

To be honest I just played about with some oil paints until it looked reasonable. Got lucky again. Cheers Alistair
Dandie Dinmont
Only the really good get lucky as often as you do! Another stunning effort with the weathering being a real stand-out for me. You ought to write a short paper on how you go about it. What’s next (apart from a big swordfish)? Craig
