One of those things sir, I always used to call them that too LOL.

Stay safe.

Simon.

I should have known, after all the powers that be went out of their way to make sure that Overlord was known as a liberation not an invasion. :D

A little more paint sort of thrown about and then the necessary touch ups were done as I wasn't happy with the I.D. Stripes.

This is the final result.

Once that's all dry then I'll mask up for the yellow wing stripes.

ColourCoats FAA/RAF Yellow done on the leading edges.

Then it was unmasked and the Maskol for the chipping was lightly scuffed off with an old toothbrush.

If you're wondering why I've not done any work on the IXe it may be that i'm using this one as a test so I can figure out the tricky parts and the best way around them. ;)

She looks absolutely fine from here Alistair.

Those I.D. bands were never perfect...

Keep safe and cool.

Simon.

Thanks Simon,

I figured given the name of the box set that they would have been hastily put on.

Not that I was trying to replicate that it just came out that way. ;)

Staying cool. Not easy just now but I'm trying.

Thanks Roger,

I'm not certain about the door seems a little too much but I've got an idea.

Right so this got a clear coat on Saturday and I started the stickers on Sunday.

Ye gods they were awful. They either didn't want to stay in place or broke apart all over the place.

I persevered and got the main decals on today and they behaved perfectly well.

As I was taking the pics I realised that I'd not put the wing roundels on.

So, 5 minutes later.

More on that subject later in another thread.

I forgot how good stripes look on a Spitfire.  Good job with the stickers, this one is on the home straight.

Thanks Mark,

The stripes do look better with the stickers on.
