Jasper dog
Tremendous MD! Just been catching up on your build and well....what can one say, superb!! The M12 obviously brilliant, such impressive attention to detail but the bridge! You've taken all the necessary elements of the real thing and reproduced them 100% in miniature, absolutely stunning work. Darryl 1
THEscaleSHOW
Gentlemen! Thank you for your comments - I appreciate it very much! I've spent the last few days and weeks creating a suitable bank for the stream. Since the scene is supposed to take place in November, I wanted to recreate a wet and cold atmosphere. The ground is soaked from the rain, bushes are withered and only the grass is still green in places. The bottom of the stream was also provided with all kinds of branches and leaves, which should still be visible in places after the resin water. Tracks are also primed, although I had long resisted sanding the annoying ejector points on the inside of the rubber pads. The M12 has all the decals and is protected from the upcoming weathering with satin varnish. The figures are also progressing, it took me about 2 weeks for the main painting. Everything was done with AK-Interactive AK 11634 WWII US ARMY SOLDIER UNIFORM COLORS SET, I applied 2 shadows and 3 light tones. Details and the heads are next in line. See you soon! MD Grass mat from the model railroad accessories. Plus a few shrubs Leftover plants are from my garden and the foliage is a mixture of dried marjoram, oregano and basil. Then everything is fixed with diluted PVA. To avoid a model railroad look, the grass and shrubs were re-treated with AB. Dress warmly - winter is coming 😁 The mud on the bank is made with Vallejo products. The tracks ready for painting. The M12 is protected, the silk gloss is still reduced later by weathering. I am satisfied with the light and shade up to this point. Details like seams etc. follow... ☮️

Thank you Muchmirth and all who wrote 👍 Yes, it's funny, but the bridge and figures feel like more work than the M12 itself 😁 Today I will continue, first I had to order new W&N brushes for the faces 🧐 MD

Whether it's the tank, landscape/buildings or figures-I curse and enjoy everything the same at the moment of construction. The main actor is always the vehicle, but for me a uniform level is very important. Only the overall picture counts, and bad figures or an unrealistic nature would stand out negatively. For me, breathing life into the whole is the challenge and the fun 😉
THEscaleSHOW
Hello folks Since a long time again a small update to the M12. The project needs more time than I thought, but slowly it is coming to an end. I'm probably already thinking about the upcoming Halftruck GB at the end of October - I have to finish it by then 😁 Ok, not much to say, see you soon! MD The bridge needs a support Late autumn mud The dirt will be painted later First fit test Miniart accessories... ...even more realistic with a few simple steps Painting a head begins with the pre-shading Then follows the desired skin tone Not many colors are needed - you can mix infinite skin tones with it. Oil colors facilitate blending and create smooth transitions The uniform will be refinished a little later His rifle is still in work, the one from Alpine is unfortunately broken 👑 R.I.P.
Muchmirth
That figure is brilliant. I like the red scarf for contrast and the texture on the cloth of the water bottle. Absolutely brilliant.

Jasper dog
Just amazing work MD, your figure work is superb, the guys jacket looks as if it could be worn! I really like the detail and story you've created with reinforcing the bridge, imagination or period photo? Sometimes I look at work like this a think, perhaps it's time to take up the pursuit of string theory instead, might stand a chance of getting closer.... Amazing work MD, and yes, super envious! Darryl Hello Darryl Thanks to you and the others for the comments 👍 I'm happy with the figure too-honestly, I repainted the head 3 times. Especially with the eyes, one wrong brush stroke can be too much and everything is messed up. As for the idea to Dioramas, so I already let myself be inspired by pictures and movies, but for the most part it is imagination. Of course, everything should be realistic to explain, but especially with war scenes you have a wide margin because (almost) anything is possible. Forget the string theory, but rather get the next kit from the shelf 😉 MD

Ed Thanks Ed! The uniform is not ready yet. The transitions between light and shadow are still too hard and will be blended. The commander is also making progress, although in my opinion Alpine modeled the hands a bit too large!?! MD

Bertie McBoatface
Well that is very skillful figure painting and the base is very good too. I haven't had a look at this for months and was surprised to see it still in progress, but the quality of the work explains that. Keep it up MD

Yes, I had thought to finish faster too, but when it's nearing the end, everything somehow always takes longer.... Started weathering this weekend and applied a base filter. Then a little chipping and painted the leather parts. Pinwash etc. follow, in parallel I'm thinking about the design of the scene. It will be (hopefully) a cold wet November day.... MD First effects on the spade. Paints for the filter. Track wash is already done. The different shades are applied wet on wet. I like to use purple with green (although OD is not green at all). I think the color harmonizes very well and creates a pretty effect. The leather is prepared. Oil paints do the rest. Filter is done. The signpost is making progress. Test fitting of the figures. The driver still needs to be painted. Let's hope the steel beam holds 😁
Jasper dog
It just keeps getting better! Interesting idea using purple with OD, might have to remember to try that. I do like the leather effect on the seats too. Great work Darryl
Maddoxx77
Man! This looks so impressive! Every detail, the figures, the vignette, the kit itself. It's all so extremely well done. I keep scrolling back to look at the photo's and everytime i see new details. It is truly a pleasure to see this build come together.
