The kit, bought for less than a tenner from the Kingkit Scrapyard, missing the machines guns, but I’d probably have replaced them any way. Still haven’t decided on the finished scheme, but it won’t be Richthofens machine.

Built many times as as a kid, I’m finally going to try to do justice to the kit, and put a high level of detail in as it’s such a large scale.

  • Marklo changed the title to Revell 1/28 Fokker DR1 - First released 1957

You are really out for a record, aren't you? I can't count how many you entered, but I know most of them from my own modelling history. Didn't know that the Fokker is from 1957 - it's a great kit!

Actually I have a very old Scale models special edition ( remember when there was no internet and reference material had to come in print form :) ) which includes the Fokker DR1 and I was thinking of one of those schemes. Must post an image when I get a chance.

I wanted to do a mostly factory finish build.

At the moment I’m between scheme 1,2 and 3.

Lots of activity on the DR1 front..

739-E48-A5-B431-45-F6-AB13-8-A3833-DCDFAAfter much fiddling, fettling and furtling ( yes it is a word) my brass frame is done and looking smart ( dry fitted only, I’ll finish the interior detail before glueing anything) I’ve also added some plastic sheet for the plywood cheeks and painted the fabric parts in buff and the wooden ones in desert yellow. I’ll probably break out the oil paints for some wood grain effects next.

7-BF41-BA9-0679-4934-AC91-B0830-C753-B1-Not a lot of activity in this one. I’ve given the paper prop a few more coats of clear.

Now that the Dornier and the two Japanese builds are done I’ll probably focus on the F100 and the Canadian builds then this as me the other two revell ogram builds will take priority.
