Predator
Hello comrades, this is my construction, or rather was my construction - the ship is already finished - of my "Prinz Eugen" from Revell. the scale is 1:720. Since I don't know what everything is called in English, I'll let the pictures do some of the talking. First the underwater hull. Parts are glued on. There is not much to write about the painting. I use oil paints, which can be brushed on smoothly. The model is not primed. The part is dirtied with black:
Predator
The question arises with the deck. Do you mask it off and paint it? No, I draw the deck myself. You know the principle from the wooden decks you can buy, but mine is made of paper. The template: The drawn one: And with textures:
Predator
Before I glue the deck on, the part is treated with a black wash : Ready to glue on: Glued on: Edited June 21, 2022 by Predator
Predator
The side walls have no windows or doors. It doesn't matter, I can draw them myself on paper: I hope you can see the difference:
TallBlondJohn
Paper - that's brilliant and much better than wood in this scale. What glue are you using?
Predator
Hi John, I use UHU with solvent. There is also water-based UHU but that would only soften the paper and it would become wavy. (Hopefully the translator translates correctly🤭)

Predator
One of the wings of the aeroplane was not cast. No problem, I made one out of cardboard:

Predator
Finally, a name tag is made and the little one is ready. Is there still interest in a construction report of the U.S.S. Enterprise 1:1200? I built it the same way..........
ArnoldAmbrose
Gidday Predator, I did one of these many years ago but nowhere near as good as this. She's very well done. That paper deck idea was very clever and the bulkheads (walls) with the door hatches and scuttles (windows) came up very well too. Your rigging finished her off nicely. Very well done. Regards, Jeff. TallBlondJohn
I'd love to see your Enterprise, the paper deck would work well on a carrier. Sort of hoping you didn't really build this in 3 1/2 hours... 😉 Did you scan the parts to get the deck plan, or measure it all out?
Adm Lord De Univers
Oh yes I'd like to see your Enterprise, this one has come out a treat and the paper details has blown my mind, amazing work! David

The construction report/photos were already finished that's why it went so fast 🤭 I photograph the deck and bring it to size. Here is an example from the Bismarck
