Totally agreed Alistair...

Moreover, when one is doing a kit accurately... You will always find some "experts" that will try to prove you wrong... :rofl2:

Nice job on the fuselage Sir !!

Adjustment are looking quite good !!

Sincerely.

CC

Thanks CC,

Don't get me wrong the lengths that some of the folks, such as your good self, Chris, Roger, Mark and Martian, on here go to and the results that they produce is truly awe inspiring.

It does make me want to improve my skills and I do try to do something extra with each build but when I'm happy with a kit I'm happy.

As has been said on more than one occasion on it's your kit you build it how you want and if that bothers someone, well, tough it's only plastic.

Anyway enough of my ramblings,

The wings have been glued together but I've left the inserts out as they'll be easier to deal with separately.

A lesson I learned from my Buccaneer build.

I'll make a start on the nacelle/wheel wells tomorrow.

Cheers,

Alistair

The Nacelles/Wheel Wells got a bit of attention this morning.

Primed and then sprayed with Flat Aluminium.

The wing pieces were glued together.

And the canopies masked

I'll get some details painted on the Nacelles later and get them glued together.

Thanks for looking,

Alistair

This is coming on very well Alistair .

Thanks for your kind comments in your reply to CC, it is great to challenge one's self by foing something tgat you have not done before, I like your work fella, you get some cracking results and produce some lovely models.  I will use the oil paint filters on a build soon myself, which I got from your build.

Great stuff.

Thanks Chris,

That is very kind of you.

The oil dot thing I saw on some armour builds and thought I can try that and see if it works.

I can't take any credit for it as usual I nicked it from someone else. ;)

I've been doing a little after work this week and got to the stage of gluing bits together.

Once that was done the seams were dealt with, I hope. and the canopy stuck on.

It's all looking pretty good in the seam areas.

Next I'll do the little rescribing that needs to be done and then on with the Sky S Type

Alistair,

This is looking lovely - once again you may have caused a budget to be blown out! I am more and more convinced as I see this build progress,

Thanks Roger,

I'm so sorry if your finances are going to take a hit.

It's a nice kit that can be picked up fairly cheaply but I'll try to behave in future. ;):wicked:

I know I said that there would be sky S Type today but I thought it might be a bit more sensible to get these on and blended in.

As you may have noticed from the like-spam, I just caught up with this splendid build Alistair.  You’re tearing through this one with great pace without any loss of quality.  I expect we’ll see an RFI by week’s end!

Thanks mark,

That very kind. Not sure about the week's end though as work is going to get in the way. I'm on for 7 straight starting Wednesday.

Thanks Roger.

Trust me I'm good at getting things in the wrong order. ;)

We can all wait an extra day or two for the paint Alistair,  no need to apologise as Roger said .  Looking forward to the paint fella, fuselage looking great with the vertical tail plane on.

Chris

Thanks Chris,

I'm not even certain how much I'll get up to today as the boy wants a trip into Europa Records in Stirling and we've got the pictures tonight.

I'll see what I can do. Might just nip into the garage and get the sky down now.

Cheers,

Alistair

I got some Sky laid down yesterday.

And this morning have started on the masking.

I have absolutely no idea why I sprayed Sky over the top of the Port wing but it is not an issue.

Thanks for looking,

I have been flinging EDSG at plastic and most of it hit the right places.

I then added a couple of drops of Ocean Grey to the paint and tried some lightening.

So unlike The Lone ranger this will be unmasked later on once everything is dry.

Ooo yes, that's what I'm talking about! Lovely even sheen, what paints are you using?

Andy

Thanks so much,

I used ColourCoats from Sovereign Hobbies.

They are hands down the best enamel paints I've ever used.

Hope that helps.

Alistair

Yeah I just put some down onto a paint mule for the first time yesterday. They sprayed beautifully, the TSS colours looked bang on and gave a lovely even (decallable?) Sheen. I'll definitely be trying out on my next builds.

Having stocked up entirely on tamiya, am starting to think satin paints are they way to go since for aircraft, I'll basically always want to be putting down a functional gloss cote at some point.
