Fin
Could someone tell me what the walkways on the wings of the PZL 23 are made of? Are they just a patch painted black/anthracite or are they actually a rubber surface? Also, what is that dark ring on the landing gear legs? Is it leather, rubber or just dark/black paint? JWM
Hi Fin, From what I heard this was a rubber but only on left wing. https://www.books-on-collectables.eu/nl/transport/lucht/pzl-23-kara/a-16992-10000002 The soft material on gear fairings (spats) for me was a rubberized cloth with reinforcements (ribs) perhaps made of a thicker rubber or metal? They are lighter on some photos https://www.abebooks.fr/edition-originale/SAMOLOTY-BOMBOWE-PZL.23-KARAS-POLISH-LIGHT/12914559242/bd#&gid=1&pid=4 Regards J-W
JWM
P.S. I have found better photo with descroptiom, that soft material was in Polish "brezent" (Eng. tarpaulin) https://onebid.pl/pl/ksiazki-i-starodruki-pzl-23-karas-opis-techniczny-platowca-p-z-l-23-b-1939-r/1176651#img-10 1
