Marseille's 10137

Recommended Posts

Here's my Hasegawa bf109f-4 trop. It'll be one of Marseilles yellow 14s. I know it's played out but I needed something easy and interesting to get me reinvigorated.

A little more progress. Cockpit is good enough for a closed canopy. I'm really happy with the colors.

I wanted to keep it a simple out of the box build but I had to put seat belts in it. Other then that it'll be OOB

Thanks for looking

Think I got the demarcation right. I thought a straight tight feathered line how hard can it be?

Tape was too tight and masking putties were a little too unruly. In the end I used the AK masking putty and post-it roll. I'm happy with it

My progress is so slow its like watching a plant grow. In my defense I'm waiting on canopy masks to arrive so I can finish paint the topside before adding the wings.

Looks very smart! It’s a handsome scheme and your colours look great.

Did it have a tropical air filter?

Regards,

Adrian

First thank you for the kind words. Yes it had the tropical filter it will be painted separately and added with the rest of the detail parts. I deliberately left it off because it complicated getting a clean demarcation line behind it on the engine cowling.

Have a great day and thanks again for the compliments.

After more screw up and repairs I finally got it properly flat coated for weathering. Canopy is not permanently fixed. It's just there so the paint matces.

I’d be happy if my models looked as good as your “screw ups”!

AW

Thanks AW. Fixing (hiding) screw ups has become my specialty 🤣 It's always three steps forward two steps back with me. I spend more time fixing boo boos than building. I had to strip and repaint a black f4u-5 eight times due to paint and decal problems. It's amazing I don't quit the hobby.

Thanks for the kind words

Ron
