Soldier Wehrmacht / simple painting, but effective

Hello friends,
the figure is from PREISER and has the scale 1:35.

The painting is very simple but I think it looks very good on the figure. (My opinion),

 

Before painting, of course, everything must be glued and then primed:

 

 

Tour around the primed figure:

Okay, that's done.

Now we put the base colour on the figure.
- I also call the base colour Kindergarten Painting, because it is very simple.

Simplicity comes now

I make a wash of black oil paint and turpentine.
Then I paint the badges and buttons.
It already looks good but there is more to come

After everything is dry, I dry paint the whole figure with light grey.

I find black a bit too dark, burnt umber with little bit of black works well.    I also use lighter fuel, it make a very thin wash

you can also dry brush with the base colours after a wash, as these are then make the highlights.
